Evening in the Winter

 Today I did some re-arranging in my living room..redid the mantle and moved a bookcase ...that's what I do in the Winter when I get bored....believe me there are things I could be doing...cleaning, baking, reading, but I think the Martha Stewart in me comes to life and I have to redo what all ready is good.....just think it would be better this way...you know" Good Thing" so bare with me I told a few pictures to share.............

 this is my buffet and hutch....a buy from years ago....an older gentleman in Northport,N.S. build this very rustic furniture and at the time I lived in a log home so the product He made fit ....I purchased several pieces from him , the drawback of the low prices was you had to finish it..sanding,staining....but getting 11 pieces for $600.....I can do the sanding and finishing touches.......

 re-arranging the bookcase gave me a opportunity to table scape of sorts....the small picture is of my parents on their 40th anniversary......

 this little cup and sauce I picked up at Home Senses when they opened here...it is a Spode...Blue Room collection...keep looking for other pieces.

 Of course you likely know by now that I like blue dishes...here is a teapot I got at Wheatons and the cup and sauce was another purchase at Home Sense

 this teapot I picked up at Winners, I worked there for about a year...and the cup and sauce was a yard sale purchase.

 love the glass cloche's I have about four of them in different sizes   use them on pedestals plates I have ...the little cup and sauce are Old Country Rose pattern a gift from my sister Ivy.....the pitcher was a gift from a friend who took a trip to Scotland and she buy this for me .....I love it... thanks for stopping by...

 These are a few pictures I took yesterday on my way home from work...I walk and get to hear the birds and enjoy the fresh air......

 this is an open field by a school I pass the snow was untouched and loved the shadows....

 A few berries the birds haven't found yet ..or the squirrels...although I heard them in the trees chatting it up...likely worried I was going to take them...

 love these big fur trees , the picture didn't capture the shining snow...we had some freeing rain the day before...love those fluffy clouds in the sky...make me think of summer clouds.

Last but not least.....a lonely birdfeeder full of snow and standing alone in the garden among the sun and late afternoon shadows........
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, ready for the new week and what it has to offer......
He has made us to be HIS witnesses to all generations...let us be the salt and light to the world around us this week....God bless

 Hi, glad you dropped by,  come into the library and have a seat...we can have a visit and enjoy the evening in.....I can go to the kitchen and brew a pot of tea , maybe even find something sweet to go with it...
We could share what has happened since our last visit or we could plan a trip.....
maybe I could find that seed catalog, never to early to start making a list of possible additions to the plot....or maybe you just want to rest and watch the sun setting over the fence....

 I know you love the idea of a European holiday, I think that would be alot of fun...there are always lots of quaint places to visit and explore...when I dream of a holiday England , Ireland and Scotland always come to mind and then......... there is Italy....conjures up all kinds of daydreams.....You likely have a bucket list that we could add to the itinerary...what places do you want to see....

                                       

Here's your dessert and I did find that catalog, just thought maybe I would have a look ....all those pictures reassure me that Spring is around the corner and I need to plan...and place my order ..

 I received my Vesey's seed catalog this week and have been dreaming thur the pages....
The smell of Spring is wonderful to this farmer's daughter...the visions of young calves and lambs, skipping in the fields ......                                            and then the rhubarb poking its way out of the stubborn soil, reaching for the bright sun and warmth.
Just fills me with renewed hope.....

What a blessing God gave us when He set the seventh day as a day of rest and worship....
I want to share some words from a Modern hymn written by a couple from Ireland...May this be our prayer not just on Sunday's but everyday.....

     What Grace is mine, that He who dwells in endless light,
     Called through the night to find my distant soul.
     And from His scars poured mercy that would plead for me,
     That I might live and in His name be known.
     So I will go wherever He is calling me,
     I lose my life...to find my life in HIM

The morning after....

We had a lovely snow fall last evening and everything looked lovely dressed  in Winter Whites...But with the climbing temperatures I expect by supper time we will be back to green again..     I like green but in spring and summer not in Winter...I have snowshoes that I would like to put to use this Winter...hoping for some snow to stay around for awhile....Remember the Winters that use to start in Early November and go till end of April....like my parents would have said" those were the days"  Enough about the weather....hope everyone has a project for the winter months....I make greeting cards and only started it a year ago, but really love it...like everything else you could spent hoards of money....but with my Scottish roots I try to find sales as often as I can....I will share some of the Christmas cards I have made already for next year...Hope everyone has a great weekend..
