     Another Week.....

Here we are into another week...I am really not sure just where the time goes...I remember my Grandmother telling us as teenagers...time goes faster as you get older...and of course our answer was  time is the same no matter your age...there is still 24 hours in a day....But now that I am older...I find myself echoing those same words...it does go faster....So I feel like I should be stopping to smell the flowers more often...talk to family and friends, leave the worries of tomorrow in tomorrow and enjoy today...because that is what we are given...today...this moment..make it count.
So I hope as you find yourself  at the hump of the week...Wednesday...that all is well with you.   Praying you smile and lend a hand when you can, smell the flowers as you pass, be encouraged or encourage someone along the way...and enjoy this last week of August...
        Happy Labor day to you.....

                May.......a breath of Spring

With the warm breeze and the birds song coming thur the window...I feel renewed strength.....
I imagine bouquets of fresh flowers in every room , their colors giving life to the furniture that they grace.

My mind wonders to the garden centers and the trays filled with plants, that await
to find their place in the sun...
Not only are the plants and the birds happy for Spring... the sheep are giving birth to their lambs...

My garden would not be complete without the sweet pea....one of my favorites...
a room filled with their sweet fragrance is so inviting....dainty petals in soft colors..
So as we go into the middle of May...I want to say
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers ......
It has been 12 years since my Mother when to Glory..
and there is not a week goes by that I don't think of her and thank God for the love and guidance of  my MOM.....
Take some time to tell your Mom just how special she is ...

Spring is coming and that gives me renewed strength and energy...so I clean...re-arrange and change up colors to lighter brighter ones
I love opening the windows and hearing the birds singing songs of Praise...
Smelling the change in the season. ..
Have you ever noticed just how things change
Sun....gets warmer
Birds....sing louder and longer
Clouds .....light and fluffy
Trees.....break forth in greenery
Flowers.....gain renewed energy to push up thur the winter harded soil
Animals....new babies
Finally..Us.....we are happier
I want to freshen up the kitchen and add light colors, soft, pastels.....
add some fresh green plants and I like to bake, so I can share it with neighbors and friends who pop in for a visit........
Spring always makes me think of
different shades of green...
new grass, new leaves on the trees,
new spikes of tulips poking out of the soil
green means new in the garden sense to me, alive...growing..
Then,  there is the thoughts of what I can do as it gets warmer.....have a tea party or a picnic...pack up the suitcase and head for greener pastures...so to speak... just to enjoy the out of doors...and of course whom ever goes with you.....

Having  friends over for an outdoor meal is always fun and I can bring out all the fun stuff that I only use for special  times......adding alittle of the seasons fare and flower
  Spring.......all I love about it...
  Tea parties
 Wedding and baby showers
any reason to have tea and sweets
Opening the doors and windows, just gives the house  so much life...
enjoying the smells and the sounded of the season........
I hope you enjoy these days  and
take time to savour it and share it with your loved ones and friends...
Happy Spring..........

As Easter approaches I want to encourage my friends in blog land to take a few moments to
remember what Easter is all about...not the bunnies and eggs;
it is the Greatest gift anyone could receive...Christ dying for you...and raising from the tomb to prove there is life after death...
Eternity life..only though Him...
So maybe you could attend church and seek to gain more understanding of this great man and what He has done for you..
This is my prayer for this Easter season, that Hope would spring anew in your hearts...and you will rejoice in Christ and the work He has accomplished on your behalf.
   Happy Easter to all

I when though a few pictures and came up with these as possible pictures I would use on cards...
I love teapots and cups, everything blue and white ...and  of course flowers.
Some of these were taken at a little table I have in front of the balcony doors, great place to seat and have tea and read a book, with the sun streaming in...
these ones are a pattern of Skye McGhie..Rose Brocade
this teapot is Cream Lace another of her collections,
the cup and saucer is from
Winners, it has a Lacy pattern

this picture was taken with a feature on my camera called nostalgic color....it gives a softness to the picture..
I like the cottage look and this is my attempt at that....this is on one side of the mantle..
these plates are made by Wood and Sons, England... a creamy white background,..the cup and saucer I picked up in a little shop in the Valley,N.S.  the teapot from Home Sense
a few from my teacup collection
Fell in love with this bowl at Home Sense and had to bring it home...
These last two are teapots I have had for a few years and they of course are blue and white...what can I say...it is my weakness.......

see what you find and want to share....
Enjoy today...it is a Gift from God...

 Got to thinking about gardening......
and all the different articles you could use to plant in and ideas that would personalize what you do....so here are a few,  maybe you will enjoy and use in your garden adventures this coming season...

Love this idea of using old kitchen tools as markers for the plants...
Have I got you thinking about some of the stuff you have that could be re-directed, for another use...the bike is great....check Aiken House & gardens , she uses a bike that her Father had in her garden......
would love to have a cabinet like this to use as a potting area...I've seen one made with recycled pallets...old barn boards would be nice too...would give that weathered look
using old chairs as plant stands...isn't that potato vine a beautiful shade of green...fresh
I think would be great to plant herbs in and hang by the kitchen door....

Today I decided it was time for the Christmas dishes to go away for another year....
usually I have a mix of dishes but I decided to pull all the blue and white together which I do in the summer, I needed a taste of summer...

This teapot and two creamers I got about 15 years and it is an old English pattern.....
Arden...Burleigh..
Stafford shire..England

I have odds and ends of blue and white I have picked up over the years....I try on holidays to find something in blue to bring home to add to the mix...this small jelly mold I found in Halifax.

there are modern day potters that do a good job of patterns...in the background is a medium size platter by Skye McGhie...Rose Brocade..she has some lovely patterns that have a beautiful design ..

this little cup and saucer I bought at Winners several years ago when they first opened in Moncton...it is made by Spode..

these two have a little more of a purple shade to the blue, but I still think they are lovely...

here is a closer look at the pattern of the mold...very dainty..

"These are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."-Henry James

I love the old quotes .....
"There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a cup of tea."
 -Bernard-Paul Heroux
"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me."  C.S.Lewis

Have a wonderful weekend all you lovely ladies...

Have been off for a few days with a bad cold and it really seems to like me...so I decided to go thur some pictures, also tried a recipe for
Linzer cookies
The magazine on the table is Teatime Bliss...
just picked it up, love it..
the opening pages had blue and white china, of
course that was a hit with me, right off.
These are flowers I got to brighten up my
apartment...even better they were 50% off.
these were tulips that I got at the same time ,
they are so pretty...soft pink
I also found this cup and sauce on sale, it has a little bird on the handle and the sauce has branches on the side...so soft and pretty..
Hope you all have a great week ....
A smile brightens not only your face, but can change the attitude of another....
Let God shine in you today......
                                      GOD BLESS
